In the 1950's, Irving Klaw became known as the "King of Pin-Up". His family business was first a magazine store. When he saw that kids were coming into his store and ripping out photos of their favorite celebrities, he got an idea. He and his sister Paula started selling photos. People could come in to the Movie Star News storefront and page through files of photos and purchase them for 5 cents. Before long, certain patrons began requesting cheesecake and bondage photos. It was then that Irving Klaw started his studio, using models like Bettie Page, and burlesque dancers like Baby Lake, Tempest Storm, Blaze Starr, and of course Lili St. Cyr, who did these two photo shoots while in the Klaw Studio filming Varietease. When Klaw's studio came under fire for the bondage and wrestling photos featuring the likes of Bettie Page, they were forced to burn hundreds of photos and negatives. The stress from this senate pressure eventually led to Irving Klaw's death. However, hundreds of cheesecake photos still remain and are available from Movie Star News to this very day. I apologise if there are duplicates in this batch. I did my best to go through a bunch of photos and pick the highest quality copy of each. Due to the similarity of them, I may have missed a few duplicates. Feel free to contact me and let me know.
